Take me out to the ballgame for some sunshine
After a month of bitter cold and rain, the sun finally came out just in time for our scheduled trip to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs take on the Dodgers. There, Cynthia and I met up with my old friend Fernando and his wife Fran, who we haven’t seen since Covid-19 became widespread in early 2020.
Our seats were tucked in the back of the first level underneath the upper deck behind home plate with a support beam interfering with our view of the pitchers mound and the batter. It didn’t matter much because sitting in the shade with a cold breeze blowing in our face quickly made it uncomfortable and motivated us to walk around the park and seek out the sunshine.
The ballpark itself was just as historic, intimate, and charming as one would imagine. The atmosphere was lively, the confines were friendly, and the fans were all in good spirits throughout the game.
