After leaving Cleveland, we rolled into Pittsburgh with low expectations and plans to go through town straight to our Airbnb, which was a little outside of the city limits. However, once we entered Pittsburgh, the beauty of the city and the bustling activity of its residents prompted us to suddenly change our plans and stop at a few sites immediately.
The first place we went to was Point State Park which features a large fountain at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers forming the Ohio River, the footprint of Fort Duquesne, the Fort Pitt Museum, and great views of Heinz Field and PNC Park. There were a number of folks out on their boats drinking, swimming, and enjoying life. From there, we walked into downtown and stumbled across the amazing all-glass buildings of the glass company PPG Industries. We then drove to the top of Mt. Washington on Grandview Ave. and visited all of the scenic overlooks of Pittsburgh and one statue of George Washington and Native American friend Guyasuta.
