Syracuse

The jumping-off point

Our week-long stop in Syracuse was used to prep for our impending stay in Canada and get a glimpse of the glacially-formed Finger Lakes, the Erie Canal, and upstate New York. We also successfully jumped in to Lake Ontario and can now claim we’ve been in all five of the Great Lakes.

Syracuse itself is pretty average but we did manage to see a couple of cool buildings at Syracuse University and an upside down traffic light. We were somewhat fortunate that our Airbnb landlord was also the owner of the upscale Italian restaurant next door because the noise he created from renovations in the unit below us propelled him to offer us a $200 credit at said restaurant.
