There are so many little things I couldn’t dedicate an entire post about that make Montreal a great place to visit and even better place to live. The first callout is the quality of the public transportation system. It is the best system I have experienced in North America thus far with its clean & safe subway, numerous bus routes, and inexpensive bike share program. The next callout is the chain restaurant Tim Horton’s. From the outside it looks like a typical cheap chain store that sells mediocre coffee, donuts, and sandwiches. However, their signature iced cappuccino (Ice Capp) is addicting and their breakfast sandwiches better than McDonald’s.
Here are some more highlights:
Poutine is amazing but also makes you feel bad about your health choices. Yet, the next time you’re hungry and see it on the menu you will definitely order it without hesitation
St. Joseph Cathedral and its enormous contemporary design
So many tennis courts available to the public
Unique traffic rules such as absolutely no right turn on red and the flashing green light
