The house we were staying in was about 40 minutes southwest of downtown Boston which put us only about 20 minutes from the Rhode Island border. Wanting to test ride our new bikes, we found a bike trail not too far into Rhode Island along the Blackstone River. Surrounded by thick hardwood forest and paralleling the river, the bike ride was pleasant and peaceful and exactly what we needed after a weekend in downtown Boston.
