While on our way to New Jersey, we made a pitstop in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut to visit the state house. Unfortunately, as it was a Sunday, the building was closed to the public. Nonetheless, we were able to take some photographs of the exterior and, while roaming the grounds, we made a serendipitous discovery: the celebrated authors Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe were once neighbors in Hartford, and their former residences have since been transformed into museums. We took the opportunity to pay a brief visit and capture some images of these historic homes.
