We drove across the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan and fortuitously found free street parking on the Upper West Side. After unloading the bicycles, we embarked on a leisurely tour of the neighborhood.
Our first destination was Tom’s Restaurant, the establishment prominently featured as the diner frequented by the characters in the popular television series Seinfeld. From there, we made our way to Columbia University before proceeding to Central Park, where we traversed the entirety of the park, from the northernmost point through the southern boundary. We then meandered through the streets of the neighborhood, making our way westward towards our vehicle. Just before reaching our van, we paused at Fairway Market to refresh ourselves with a pastry and freshly-squeezed orange juice.
