The neighborhood parks in Orlando and much of Florida were a sight to behold, even in seemingly innocuous, tame locations. Biking or walking through these parks suddenly felt like wildlife parks with the amount of creatures popping up in front of us from land, air, and water. We witnessed Great White Pelicans flying low and swooping toward a pond just above our heads while also dodging low-flying hawks making attempts to capture their prey. At the same time we kept a close eye on a nearby alligator sunning itself on the banks of the same pond as we rode our bikes past.
