Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs (蜜糖蒜香雞)

Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • Salt & pepper

For honey garlic sauce

  • 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce
  •  cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chicken stock
  • 1.5 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (or Douban sauce)

Instructions

  1. Pat dry chicken thighs using a kitchen towel. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce.
  3. Heat a skillet. Melt butter.
  4. Sear chicken thigh top side (skin side) down for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken and move it towards the edge of the pan making little space in the middle.
  6. Add minced garlic at the center and saute for 30 seconds.
  7. Pour the sauce into the pan ( avoid pouring it over the chicken, or else it will wash off the caramelized bits).
  8. Simmer and let the sauce reduce by almost half. The sauce will be slightly sticky and just thick enough to pour over some rice.
